One of the earliest farming settlements in South Asia — permanently inhabited from the aceramic Neolithic (7th millennium BCE) to the Chalcolithic, abandoned before the mature Indus phase. Evidence of the world's earliest dentistry was found here. Rediscovered in the 1970s after a flash flood.
